Thanks to all who have donated to this worthwhile project. In addition to individual gifts, we are honored to have received monetary gifts from the following organizations: Adel Kiwanis, Adel Rotary, and Adel Lions Club. The American Legion Post 464 has donated a new flagpole for the veterans plaza. The Dallas County Foundation has selected this project for one of its 2017 grants. And "thank you" to the City of Adel, specifically Kip Overton & Nick Schenck and their crews, Jackie Steele, Anthony Brown, and Mayor Jim Peters for their hard work and on-going support of this project.
A BIG "Thank You" to American Legion Post 464 for their generous $1,000 donation in January, 2018. They are purchasing commemorative bricks for 11 ADM graduates killed in action. These will be placed at the Veterans Plaza. The remaining balance is gifted to the Oakdale Pride project. The Post's gift is much appreciated, as is the service to our country by their members!
From Facebook: "The Rotary Club of Adel received a Rotary International Foundation District 6000 Community Grant to support the Veterans Plaza at Oakdale Cemetery this year. The club will match the District grant amount and contribution additional local club funds for a total of $5,276 to put fundraising for this project over the top!
